Brief description

 

The new “ALL PURPOSE SPORTS COMPLEX” is the first sporting, cultural centre in Novara and one of the biggest in the North-West.
It has been planned to make up for the lack of any similar complex in our town together with the chance provided by the schemes of Regione Piemonte for the Olympic Games in 2006.

The building area lies in the Terdoppio Park and is 140.000 square metres (139.644). It is close to the A4 turnpike and to one of the town University campuses. It is easy to reach thanks to road and public transport facilities and has a parking lot for nearly 4.000 cars.

The Project is supposed to redraw the socio-cultural town boundaries to strengthen its role in the interregional map as a hub in Eastern Piedmont.
The changes in the area are aimed to promote an increase in tourism and trade connected to sports events, meetings, trade fairs.

The Project is based on three main parts.

An all purpose sports complex called “Poli” for national and international contests with 5.000 seats, a complex for competitive and leisure swimming with a water surface of about 2.900 square metres named “AcquA” including an Olympic swimming pool with 1.000 seats on the stands and a beginners’ swimming pool, both are indoor and roofed with a movable cover and two outdoor swimming pools for leisure activities.
There will also be a “Club House” in central location planned as a covered square with coffee bars and restaurants.
